Budget LED Light Panel
When taking pictures or creating videos, lighting is a very key part. However, when trying to find good lights you may end up paying hundreds for a small set. When going through Amazon, I found some cheaper LED light panels that have turned out to be very good and work well!
Bestlight 160 LED Studio Lighting Kit
At the time of ordering mine, I bought two lights on their own for £15 each. However, these seem to have stopped being sold and now they sell kits including light stands. I did buy light stands separately and this new deal works out cheaper.
Here are the points of interest from Amazon.co.uk:
- 16 LED Video Light with 32" tall studio light stand.
- This light consists of 16 pieces highlighted LEDs, with mighty power and balanced luminance. Suitable for all - Canon Nikon DSLR Cameras.
- The 32" tall light stand can support most flash/strobe light, umbrella and reflectors. Lightweight and durable.
- (1) 16 LED Video Light
- (1) 32"/8cm Tall Photography Mini Light Stand
The Lights take 6 AA batteries and gives you an indicator on the back of how much battery is left in it. The only issue I found with the battery is that the light has an open back, so if using in wet conditions it could have some negative effects on the lights.
Another good addition to the package is a hot shoe mount for the light, in which you can attach the light directly to the top of your camera or anything else with a hot shoe. This makes it easier for run and gun shooting so you don't have to set up lights in different locations then move them about.
The light also comes with 3 different filters that slot easily into the front section. This allows you to add a slight colour change which can be good for different moods in different video scenes. However, the filters do not make too much of a change and it is hardly noticeable on camera. Using a control on the rear of the light, you can dim or brighten the light. This is good also for different lighting situations.
The light stands that are included in the set are similar to the Amazon basics ones that I bought. They are not very high quality and are made out of quite a weak plastic, however, this means they are very lightweight. As long as you are careful with them you should be fine. They are however, much smaller than mine and only reach 32 inches at max. I would suggest getting some taller ones for outdoor work or travelling.
Overall for the price of this Kit, I think it is well worth the money. If you are a beginner then this is more than enough for what you will need. Use the link below
